What is synesis?
Synesis (σύνεσις) is an ancient Greek word for understanding — not just knowing facts, but the act of bringing pieces together into sense. It’s the kind of comprehension that arrives after you’ve turned an idea over enough times to see how it fits with everything else.
That’s the spirit I want this blog to have.
What to expect
Notes, half-formed arguments, and the occasional finished thought on AI research, scientific reasoning, and ideas that don’t always have a home elsewhere. I’ll also write about my running — race recaps, training observations, and the occasional running video. I’m writing here to think more carefully, not to publish polished essays — so expect drafts in public, revisions over time, and the occasional change of mind.
About me
I’m Benjamin Han — a curious soul who likes to ask questions, read widely, and follow problems wherever they lead. My day-to-day sits somewhere near research and ideas, but I’d rather let the writing speak for itself than the résumé.
